Why an Education Committee?
The goal of the FCIA Educational Committee is to rectify this by establishing a library of vendor-neutral, technology-based material that anyone can use to better
their understanding.
In particular, the goals of this initiative are to:
Be the primary source of information for all things Fibre Channel
Be 100% vendor neutral (no branding, products, marketing)
Address FUD from non-FC actors with technical correctness
Create a library of information for the technology for use by analysts, decision makers, administrators, journalists, etc.
Maintain Fibre Channel’s prominence as a storage solution in the Data Center in the public discourse
What Does the Education Committee Do?
"The enemy is ignorance, not individuals, companies, or technology"
The FCIA Education Committee is responsible for providing high-quality education materials from subject matter experts
in a variety of venues and formats. This is inclusive of, but not limited to:
Webinars
White Papers, Blogs, and Articles
External Education
The FCIA has already begun to build momentum with a highly successful series of informative webinars that provide
technology professionals with the tools they need to understand how Fibre Channel works.
Who Can Participate?
You can!
We are looking for people who wish to share their expertise with people who can stand to benefit from your wisdom.
There needs to be a place where you can share the work that you’ve been doing, to educate people on how to use Fibre Channel - and you deserve the credit for the work that you do.
There is a lot of ignorance in the technical community about how Fibre Channel works, and it’s up to the Education Committee to close that gap. We would love to have your input on doing just that.
Please join us for a kickoff meeting on Tuesday, October 10 at 8AM PT/10AM CST/11AM ET by
clicking here.
We’ll be discussing the purpose and goals of the committee, discuss how webinars work, and begin working on a formal editorial calendar for topics.
See you there, and check out fibrechannel.org for some of the excellent educational content that FCIA has produced already!
